Mary Mother of Good Counsel School Wins Bishop Bowers 50th Anniversary Quiz Competition

 


Accra, Ghana – February 2025


The 50th Anniversary Inter-School Quiz Competition at Bishop Bowers School, Lartebiokorshie, ended in an intense intellectual showdown, with Mary Mother of Good Counsel School emerging as the ultimate champions. The event brought together some of the finest schools in the region, competing for academic glory.


The competition featured four rounds, testing students’ knowledge in English Language & Christian Living, Mathematics, Science & ICT, and Social Studies & General Knowledge. Each school put up an impressive fight, but Mary Mother of Good Counsel School outshined the rest, finishing with an outstanding 72+3 points, securing the top position.


Close behind was Christ the King International School, finishing with 72 points, followed by Corpus Christi Catholic School in third place with 62.5 points. The host school, Bishop Bowers School, finished with 55 points, while St. Theresa’s School, North Kaneshie, and St. Bernadette Soubirous School scored 56 and 57 points, respectively.


One of the most thrilling moments came during the Science & ICT round, where Mary Mother of Good Counsel School dominated with an impressive 25 points, setting them apart from their competitors. The competition remained fierce until the final round, where a decisive performance in General Knowledge secured their victory.


The event was filled with excitement as teachers, parents, and students cheered for their teams, witnessing an inspiring display of intelligence, teamwork, and quick thinking. The winning school was awarded a trophy, while all participants were commended for their hard work and determination.


As Bishop Bowers School celebrates 50 years of academic excellence, this competition stood as a testament to the bright future of education and intellectual pursuit in Ghana. The anticipation is already building for next year’s contest, where schools will once again compete for the top honor.

The organizers stated their displeasure about comments from people who did not vote or follow proceedings with regards to the awards.
