BESSA SIMONS- I WILL UNITE MUSICIANS

As part of his successes and achievements as the outgoing 1st Vice President of Musiga,  the belembe hit maker Bessa Simons has stated categorically that he will unite and bridge the gap between young and older folks and continue from where he left off as 1st vice president.

He stated that at the time he was the vice president of musiga he assisted in the following activities.

# Effective branding of Musiga to become more attractive to industry players and other stakeholders through effectively PR and Marketing initiatives.

# Re-registraion of members and the establishment of new - membership database and increased in membership by 200%.

#Establishment of aging musicians welfare fund (AMWEF) and yearly distribution support to members. Holding medical screening exercises for beneficiaries, over 200 members have benefited from the AMWEF.

#Effective collective "Rights" management (GHAMRO). This means that the Union led the revolution to achieving an effective administration for GHAMRO in line with accepted standard international practices.

#MUSIGA Academy - This in collaboration with the (SPA) School of Performing Arts and NAFTI to provide professional training and skills for players in the music industry.

# Comprehensive survey on music industry in Ghana to identify the economic contributions of the sector to GDP and also to advice policy direction and public and private investment in the music sector.

#Establishment of the Midland- Musiga Ajumapa Business Loans - This was a low interest and relatively collateral free  loan to enable Musiga members to access funds for their projects.

# Institutionalized the Ghana music week festival, Musiga grand Ball, Asanteman grand Ball and awards as event brands to raise funds for union projects and formalized the GMA with charter house to provide a Car prize for chosen VGMA winners over  3 years.

#Regional support for capacity building, during our first term of office an amount of ¢100, 000 was distributed among the 10(ten) regional offices of Musiga for capacity building and development.

#  Initiated a policy for Greater Accra in receiving a percentage from dues and to also have a well structured welfare.

# Establishment of the Union anti-corruption campaign and the making of Peace songs along with a walk.

The high life artist has stated that he has a lot to offer every musician when he is voted into power.

The organizers of this years Ghana National Gospel Music Awards has stated categorically that this years awards was free and fair by all standards. The organizers stated their displeasure about comments from people who did not vote or follow proceedings with regards to the awards. They said the scheme is for gospel musicians and so there was no need to cheat. Asking them about how the winners were selected, they gave a vivid explanation from the beginning of the journey to musicgh1. 1.
